Unleash your creativity with Abstraction with LiPHUS! Explore abstract painting using vibrant colors and textures through various techniques and processes. This workshop caters to all skill levels and provides a space for you to discover new ways to express yourself. This workshop is for ages 21 and above.

We’ll begin the morning with a quick exercise to dispel the intimidating white canvas, followed by a celebratory Champagne cocktail to loosen us up and spark creativity. We’ll experiment with painting by feeling, then move on to learn a few techniques for painting by distortion of nature. If you have an extra canvas, bring it along, and we’ll maintain the momentum with a second (or even a third, if you’re feeling ambitious). Due to time constraints, we’ll be using acrylic in our demonstration, but we’ll also discuss oils and other media.

SUPPLIES:

One 16x20 stretched canvaswill be provided as well as a variety of mark making tools and some acrylic paints.

***Students will need to provide:

• Their own easel suitable for a 16x20 canvas.

• A variety of brushes, with some brushes at least one inch wide.

• Spray bottle for water

• Any unique mark making material you already have (wood sticks, old crusty brushes bubble wrap, use your imagination).

• Optional: Additional canvases to work on simultaneously (it’s easier than it sounds).
